Joy D. Eden
Joy Eden practices in the area of insurance coverage and insurance coverage litigation; her experience includes more than ten years as in-house coverage counsel for a national insurance carrier, where she analyzed coverage nationwide for large commercial losses under commercial general liability policies, OCIP and other specialty and miscellaneous coverages. Joy advises carriers on claim-handling issues, alternative dispute resolution, private arbitration agreements, risk management and litigation. Joy is experienced in handling a wide variety of insurance-related disputes under third-party and first-party policies, including construction defect, advertising injury, personal injury, product liability, bodily injury, property, environmental and toxic torts claims.
In addition, Joy provides strategic advice for complex coverage matters under general liability policies for primary, excess, umbrella and surplus lines carriers. She has extensive experience in additional insured, contractual indemnity, allocation and independent counsel disputes. Joy also provides guidance in drafting of policy language.
Joy has litigated complex coverage disputes in state and federal courts, including bad faith, contribution and declaratory judgment actions.
